The Bearded Lady
The Bearded Lady is intended to be a multipurpose board for use in as many purposes as possible. It, by no means, is cleverly designed or optimized. However, it does contain source code libraries (for the PIC16F876 and the CCS compiler) to control all of its components, making it easy and quick to code for. Also, the board is fairly well documented to help in parts ordering, assembly, and coding.
It features:
- 2 high-current MOSFETs with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) capabilites for motor control, LEDs, relays, etc.
- 8 .5 amp line driver channels for driving LEDs and whatnot.
- 2 unipolar stepper motor drivers (1.25 amps per channel).
- Capacitance sensor for touch sensing through materials (like wood, plastic, etc).
- Real Time Clock for time and calender capabilities with battery backup.
- 5 analog-to-digital (AD) converters.
- RS232 serial communication (to communicate with other peripherals or a computer)
- Cricket serial communication (See www.handyboard.com/cricket.)
